Community
Hesters Way Baptist Church is involved in day-to-day life in the community, supporting various individuals and projects, including:
Family Space
“a helping hand with the ups and downs of family life by being Good News in Community” – “A safe place for a child to spend time with a parent they no longer live with”
Stay and Play
Stay & Play groups offer a safe and friendly place where parents can enjoy some play time with their children. These sessions also give parents the chance to meet up with other parents and come to a better understanding of their child’s play and behaviour. Stay & Play also gives young children the chance to play alongside/with others as a valuable experience before going on to playgroup or nursery.
Sessions include free play, craft, snack time and singing.
Stay & Play runs at Hesters Way Baptist Church in Ashlands Road on
Tuesdays from 10.00 to 11.30 and Wednesdays from 9.15-11.00 and at the Oasis Centre on Thursdays from 10.00-11.30.
Cheltenham YMCA
We believe every person should have the opportunity and support to realise their potential in body, mind and spirit.
Founded in 1855, YMCA Cheltenham has been a major provider of accommodation, sports facilities and youth work for more than 160 years and, holding fast to our Christian roots and ethos, we aim to work with the whole person – body, mind and spirit.
YMCA Cheltenham has always provided opportunities and services suitable for the day. Being an independent local charity, we know what the local community needs and we are able to respond quickly to those ever-changing needs.
Cheltenham Foodbank
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
